1. National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM)

The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) was constituted under an Act of Parliament with a vision to play the role of a premier institute for capacity development in India and the region. The efforts in this direction that began with the formation of the National Centre for Disaster Management (NCDM) in 1995 gained impetus with its redesignation as the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) for training and capacity development. Under the Disaster Management Act 2005, NIDM has been assigned nodal responsibilities for human resource development, capacity building, training, research, documentation, and policy advocacy in the field of disaster management. Both as a national Centre and then as the national Institute, NIDM has performed a crucial role in bringing disaster risk reduction to the forefront of the national agenda. The Institute believes that disaster risk reduction is possible only through the promotion of a “Culture of Prevention” involving all stakeholders. The Institute works through strategic partnerships with various ministries and departments of the central, state and local governments, academic, research and technical organizations in India and abroad and other bilateral and multilateral international agencies.

NIDM is proud to have a multi-disciplinary core team of professionals working in various aspects of disaster management. In its endeavor to facilitate training and capacity development, the Institute has state-of-the-art facilities like classrooms, seminar hall and video-conferencing facilities etc. The Institute provides training in face-to-face, online and self-learning mode as well as satellite-based training. In-house and off-campus face-to-face training to the officials of the state governments is provided free of charge including modest boarding and lodging facilities.

2. Ganga Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM)

GITAM has been established by Pawan Ganga Educational Society, with a pivotal aim to take quality education to the doorsteps of far furlong rural and urban masses of the country. GITAM is an institute duly approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and Affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU, Rohtak, Haryana). GITAM has been treading the path of rapid development as per a neatly charted action plan since its inception in 2008. The same is reflected in our results and placements. 567 students are University Rankers in 2016 – 17 out of which 21 students secured 1st Position. 15 students of GITAM received Gold Medals in MDU Convocation. 150+ companies visited the campus in the year 2017-18.

3. National Fire Service College, Nagpur

The idea of opening a Training College for Fire Service personnel of the country was conceived in the Expert Committee Meeting held in 1950 and the National Fire service college was established in 1956 at Rampur, U.P., The degree program aims at producing complete Fire and Safety Professionals with the requisite theoretical as well as practical knowledge base. The curriculum has been designed to cater to the ever-changing demands of Fire Technology, with the necessary inputs from the industry. The college aspires to produce individuals equipped to contribute for progress at all levels- individual, nation and global. The college is housed at the Old Settlement Commissionate Building, altered the premises to the adequacy of a fire service Training Center, with sufficient space for conducting Fire Drills, and Demonstrations. 4. Institute of Disaster Management & Fire Science (IDMFS)

Institute of Disaster Management & Fire Science (IDMFS) is a pioneer institute engaged in training of aspiring students interested to build their career in Fire & Industrial Safety Management. IDMFS is providing training to the ex-servicemen interested to be appointed in the said field. IDMFS is also imparting training to SSB candidates. IDMFS is registered institute with Govt. of Punjab. IDMFS is also affiliate member institution to National Safety Council of India, Mumbai established by Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India. NSC has the objectives to develop, generate and sustain a movement on safety, health, and environment at the National level. IDMFS is marching together with NSC for the achievement of safety goals enshrined by NSC. IDMFS has a liaison with reputed industrial houses as well as other establishments for job placements. 5. Disaster Management Institute (DMI), Bhopal

The Disaster Management Institute (DMI) was set up in 1987 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP) as an autonomous organization in the aftermath of the world’s worst ever industrial disaster in Bhopal. In homage to its victims, the establishment of DMI is a commitment to ensure that grim ‘Bhopal’ never recurs. DMI is now recognized as one of the premier Institute in the area of Disaster Management at the National level. Recognizing its capability, Govt. of India has planned to upgrade it as the National Institute in Industrial Safety (NIIS) in the current five year plan. Over the years, DMI has organized more than 1000 Training programmes building capacity of nearly 30,000 persons in various aspects of Disaster Management. DMI is now recognized as Center of Excellence in “Management of Chemical Accidents”. DMI is also recognized as one of the few Third Party Inspection Agencies (TPIAs) for certification of ERDMP documents for midstream and downstream activities of the Oil & Gas sector.
