Malvika Iyer is a bomb blast survivor, social worker, Doctoral Researcher and a Junior Research Fellow at Madras School of Social Work.
She is also a Global Shaper from the Chennai Hub, which is a part of the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum.
After an accident that caused her to lose both the hands at the age of 13, young Malvika braved all the odds and emerged victorious to be a symbol of courage and optimism.
An alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and Delhi School of Social Work, she works extensively to spread awareness on disability and to shape an inclusive society for the differently abled.
A state topper in class 10th in 2004, she is a recipient of a number of awards for meritorious performance and has worked on various research projects over the years.
She has been featured in ‘GIFTED’, a national bestseller on inspiring stories of people with disabilities.
