About Institute

The idea of starting a University at Lucknow was first mooted by Raja Sir Mohammad Ali Mohammad Khan, Khan Bahadur, K.C.I.E. of Mahmudabad, who contributed an article to the columns of “The Pioneer” urging the foundation of a University at Lucknow. A little later Sir Harcourt Butler, K.C.S.I., K.C.I.E, was appointed Lieutenant-Governor of the United Provinces, and his well-known interest in all matters under his jurisdiction, specially in matters educational, gave fresh life and vigour to the proposal. The first step to bring the University into being was taken when a General Committee of educationists and persons interested in university education appointed for the purpose, met in conference at Government House, Lucknow, on November, 10, 1919. At this meeting Sir Harcourt Butler, who was in the chair, outlined the proposed scheme for the new university. Vision is to develop human resource for furtherance of knowledge through teaching, research and innovation and ranked amongst the top educational institutions of the world for the better service to the humanity in general and our nation in particular. The mission of the University is, to be a University driven by values enriched with diverse cultures, to promote economic, social and spiritual advancement for an egalitarian society.

Lucknow University MBA Programme

The admissions will be done on the basic of CAT score pf applicants. To apply to these programs applicants have to first fill the form for CAT.

Seats Availability

Applications are invited for 540 Seats of 09 MBA Programs:

MBA (Regular) – 60 Seats, MBA (Self-Financed) – 60 Seats, MBA (Finance & Control) (Self-Financed) – 120 Seats, MBA (Human Resource & Industrial Relations) (Self-Finance) – 120 Seats, MBA (Marketing) – (Self-Financing) – 120 Seats, and MBA (International Business) (Self-Financed) – 60 Seats

Eligibility Criteria for MBA Programs

All admissions to the various MBA programs will be governed by the ordinances of the Dept. of Business Administration as well as the Institute if Management Sciences depending on where that particular program is being conducted.

A candidate will be eligible for Admission to the MBA programs if he/she has completed graduation in any stream with 10+2+3 system from any University recognized by UGC.

The candidate should also have secured a minimum 50% of marks at graduate level. However, for SC/ST candidates minimum pass percentage of marks at graduate level will be 45%.

University reserves the right to cancel any admission at any stage. In case of any matter relating to the MBA Admissions, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor/Admission Committee, University of Lucknow shall be final and binding.

Selection Procedure 

The candidates for admission to the MBA programmes shall be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in CAT.
